GODDESS ON THE THRONE

The 6000-year old “Goddess on the throne” characterised by the precision of hand-made refinement and unique material has become the symbol of Stone Art Slovakia. Even though the statue was named “Goddess on the throne”, its gender is unspecified. It is symbolised by a pentagonal head with clear-cut facial traits, almond eyes and an amulet around its neck. The “Goddess” originates in the Neolithic culture of Vinča that used to spread across the territory of today’s Balkan Peninsula just like the marble used for refinement of all our statuary. All the sculpture can be made in 10 types of marble.
